THANK YOU !
So many people have helped us to raise the funds to begin this new Thanet Youth Theatre, we are very grateful for your support.
Imagine a place where young voices find their strength, where laughter and creativity spark confidence! That's the magic we're bringing to Thanet with our Youth Theatre Project. In this wonderland, every young star of all abilities gets to shine.
Thanks to your support, the new Thanet Youth Theatre launches on Tuesday 16 April 2024.
Unlocking Young People's Potential through a kaleidoscope of fun exercises, games and performances, we're crafting a new Youth Theatre where each young person discovers their unique spark, led by performance Brigitte Aphrodite as the Youth Theatre Artist Leader. Our past adventures have transformed lives, turning weekly sessions into journeys of self-discovery and joy.
Starting on 16 April, there will be two sessions a week on Tuesdays at the Tom Thumb Theatre, Cliftonville.
5pm - 6pm: Ages 7-11yrs
6.30 - 8pm: Ages 11-18yrs

What it's all about.....
Being confident enough to enter a new group, speak and join in is difficult, and especially when you're young. We want to start a new Youth Theatre project which works in detail with each young person, finds out what they need and builds a creative, fun, inventive programme of exercises, games and performance to enable them to blossom, with particular care for neurodivergent young people.
Our past experiences blew us away with what parents said about how a weekly session was transforming lives. We will create a new Youth Theatre for Thanet which welcomes young people and understands their diversity. Weekly sessions for 7-11yrs and 11 - 18yrs will work at the speed students need, and will develop confidence by building ways for them to connect with Looping the Loop's professional artists and programme of street theatre, workshops and new productions. They are not expected to feel forced to perform in a big production, but we'll help them feel comfortable with themselves and new people.
Let's Make It Happen Today! If we don't hit our target, we lose funding offered by Kent County Council and NHS Kent & Medway
