Come and help us make a show for the early years!
Estelle Rosenfeld is developing a show for the early years and she is inviting you to witness and feedback on the very first stages.
‘Inside’ is an intimate, immersive multi-sensory puppetry show for the early years, a non-verbal allegory of life in the womb and how information is perceived. This is a show about communication, how the inside and the outside talk to each other. How much sound and light comes in? How to answer? How to come out?
It is aimed specifically at the 0-4 years age range but the experience can be enjoyed by the whole family. Using sound-making, clowning, puppetry and shadow theatre, this show is performed both from the inside and outside of a dome.
This project is supported by the Arts Council England, Canterbury City Council, Looping the Loop, Baby Sensory Thanet, Helter Skelter Nursery, The Gulbenkian, The Quarterhouse and BAC Collaborative Touring Network.
Estelle Rosenfeld was born in Paris and grew up in a theatre environment. After studying theatre with Jacques Lecoq, she trained as a prop maker and moved on to puppetry, producing two award-winning children’s shows.
She moved to Britain in 2007 and her work became a lot more interdisciplinary. It is often participative and offers various levels of engagement, trying to relate to audiences in unexpected ways and unusual places. She has been exploring the possibilities of site-specific and outdoor work with Puppets & Dolls (2009), Take the Pose (2009) and Spread the Love (2012) and explored immersive and site-specific theatre with Capture (2011).
